Approved Provider with NCBTMB!
My summer project.
Teaching is something that I love to do. I started teaching craft and sewing classes while I worked through college. I went back to school at 30 to get my teaching credential in Special Education and taught in California public school for several years. I have taught group yoga classes, intro yoga series, mindful eating, meditation, and Reiki class. It seemed a natural transition to teaching massage classes.
I took the plunge and submitted my application and my first class to the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. NCBTMB is the main governing board for massage therapy continuing education in the US. This means that I can offer courses to licensed massage therapists and they in turn gain continuing education units to renew their licenses. Each class must be approved as well as the instructor. It was a big step for me.
Self-confidence, knowledge, and persistence are needed to apply and patience to go through the process. I’ve put hundreds of hours in my own education and I am now so excited to pass some of the knowledge to other massage therapists.
I will be offering Thai massage training, cupping, ethics, and business courses. I plan on working hard this winter to create a whole bunch of great courses! Coming in spring of 2022 and beyond!
